Weekend in Missouri

We made our last trip back to Missouri (before Hudson arrives) for Carissa's birthday party and for our baby shower. We enjoyed getting to spend time with all of our friends at the party on Saturday and at the shower on Sunday. We also enjoyed getting to see Byron and Jennifer who came in from Dallas and my Mom, Aunt Judy and Grandmother Miller who came for the shower from Tennessee. We are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends and Hudson already has so many people that love him and can't wait to meet him.

FUN IN THE SUN!!!

We just spent an amazing week in Florida with some of the family (Zack, Cherith, EK, Mom and Dad). Katie, Patrick and the boys even joined us for a few days. We missed having Chad and Brandy there with us but we are looking forward to seeing them soon.

We enjoyed spending time on the beach and ate lots of great sea food. We also enjoyed getting to meet up with our friends Eric and Stefanie for dinner while we were there. We had a great time but after a week of the beach, swollen ankles and an eight hour drive home we were very happy to get home and Gracelyn was very happy to see us.

Ella Kate wasn't so sure about the ocean at first but eventually she loved it. She loved playing in the sand and taking naps on the beach. We would sit under the umbrella and she would be out instantly.....but then again whats better than taking a nap on the beach!

The guys and Cherith took a day to go Deep Sea Fishing while Mom and I stayed with Ella Kate and went shopping. They had a blast and caught tons of fish but Cherith out did all the boys and caught the most fish and of course the biggest!

Home...In Tennessee!

After a long weekend of packing we are officially moved to Tennessee. Sunday we headed back to Missouri for one last day of school on Monday and then drove back to Henderson today.


It was not as easy as I thought it would be leaving school on Monday. First, I had to tell all the kids bye...then all the faculty and staff stays outside after school and celebrates as the buses leave one last time which you can imagine is full of emotions. The thought had never even crossed my mind that I had to tell all the girls I worked with bye then too....that was so so hard for me to do. They have all been so wonderful and accepted me from the beginning. I am really going to miss them and I know they will miss making fun of my southern accent.


We have a very busy week ahead of us. Tomorrow we are looking at houses ALL day and Thursday we have our first doctor's appointment with our new doctor. I always get nervous before our appointments and this time is no different. I always feel better after it is all over and I know that Hudson is healthy and growing. Our week doesn't stop here....Zack, Cherith and EK are coming in to town Wednesday and we are all going to Florida on Saturday. We are very excited about our much needed vacation. We will keep you updated on everything going on here and get some pictures up soon.....

Hudson Miller Lewis!!

Finally......we have decided on a name for our baby boy. We have thought long and hard about his name and after doing alot of research on the internet and reading lots of books and magazines we have made a decision. We have decided to name him Hudson Miller Lewis. Hudson is a name that I have always loved and have been hoping that Todd would too...I think it is finally starting to grow on him. Miller is my moms maiden name and is a name that is very special to all of us. I love family names and want to pass them down to our children. We are very excited to start planning for our baby boy and finally being able to call him by his name. We can't wait for you all to meet our Hudson.

Our weekend in Arkansas

We have had a very busy week and I haven't had a chance to update. We got to spend last weekend with the family in Arkansas. We headed out on Friday afternoon and met Mom, Dad, Zack, Cherith and baby EK for dinner at Famous Dave's.....yummm. Saturday we went to Fort Smith, Arkansas to see my dads family. While we were there some major storms went through the area. Luckily, we were all safe and when we got back to Zack's we had two very scared dogs waiting for us. We had a wonderful weekend with all of our family. It was the first time we had seen Ella Kate since Easter and man has she grown...she has two precious little teeth, she is crawling and is starting to baby talk. I miss that we can't see her more and watch her grow but we cherish every moment that we do. Here are a some pics of sweet EK!

GREAT NEWS!!!!

We received some VERY exciting news earlier this week....we are getting to move back to Tennessee. Todd was offered a teaching job in Lexington and will start the 2008-09 school year there the end of July. We are moving to Henderson the first week of June. We are already in the process of looking at houses and are planning on staying with my mom and dad until we make a final decision. We are very excited about starting this new chapter in our lives but we are sad to leave all the people here that mean so much to us.

It's been awile!

Things have been pretty hectic for us since our last post. We have been preparing for our new little addition...thats right we are expecting a baby boy the end of August! We are very excited and are so ready to meet our sweet boy. I also celebrated a birthday April 12th and my wonderful parents came here to celebrate with us. It is finally starting to warm up here and we have had a chance to enjoy several nice walks around the neighborhood with Gracelyn. May is going to be a busy month for us...we are heading to Arkansas to visit the Farris family this weekend and Todd is in his friend Mike's wedding the 17th and Byron and Jennifer are coming for a visit Memorial Day weekend. We are very excited about all the exciting things going on in our lives right now....God has truly blessed us!!!!
